Karl-Johan Wigander is a 22 year old award winning drummer, musical director, and producer based out of Los Angeles, CA and Nashville, TN.

Originally from Gothenburg, Sweden, Karl-Johan started playing drums at the age of 8 years old and started playing professionally around the age of 12, sitting in on gigs for his stepfather, a professional drummer. From there on, he started taking marimba lessons from Daniel Berg, a world-class marimba soloist. He appeared in his book - Easy Solos Vol. 2 in his early teens. Karl-Johan also took private drum lessons from Björn Fryklund, a very well known drummer in Sweden and Europe, playing with the band Freak Kitchen.

Before high-school, he competed with the Indoor Percussion band Got Motion and won Indoor Percussion Europe. 

During high school, he played with one of Scandinavias best youth big bands, Brewhouse Big Band. And did multiple shows and smaller tours with them. He also worked with rockabilly artist Sixten Börjesson, touring and recording drums for him.


Other notable work during this period includes playing on the world-famous Polar Music Prize TV-gala. And Park Lanes (Gothenburg's biggest night club) running live show - Schlager.

After high school, Karl-Johan moved to Boston to pursue studies at Berklee College of Music and later Los Angeles, where he finished school at Musicians Institue. During his time in LA, Karl-Johan worked with multiple artists and bands, playing on recording sessions and live shows. Some of these include working with Cole Pendery (RYDYR), guest appearances at Ultimate Jam Night at the Whiskey A Go Go, and Sunset Jam at the Viper Room.

Karl-Johan moved to Nashville in July of 2019 to start working with up and coming country artist Kyle Daniel. With Kyle, he toured all over the U.S., opening up for bands such as Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels, Cadillac Three, Sister Hazel, The Outlaws, Frank Foster and, Vintage Trouble. He also played at Americana Fest 2019 and recorded and filmed several songs for American Fest Association United Kingdom Collective Album. Together with Kyle Daniel.


Other work includes doing guest lectures at Rytmus high school in Malmö, Sweden. Performing on the Swedish biggest morning show Nyhetsmorgon together with Alexzandra Wickman.
